Oj då!
We want you to have a great time.

Wedding

Will transportation be arranged to the venue?AnswerYes. As we get closer to the date we will update everyone with details about transportation to and from the venue.

Can we bring children?AnswerFor the Friday drink, children are welcome. However, for the wedding we ask you to leave your children at home. Infants that cannot be without their parents are of course welcome.

Can I stay overnight at
the venue?
AnswerUnfortunately, there are not enough rooms at Villa Soludden for everyone to spend the night. We’ll be arranging transportation back to the city.

Can I leave the venue earlier or later than the arranged transportation?AnswerYes, however you’ll have to arrange that on your own. We’d recommend taking a cab (Uber or Bolt for app rides, Taxi Stockholm or Värmdö Taxi for taxi service). It could be a bit pricey at night time — if so, we’d suggest splitting a cab to Slussen and take the subway / bus from there.

What should I wear to
the wedding?
AnswerFormal attire is recommended for the wedding. That means a suit and tie for men, a dress of sorts or a suit for women. It might be milder at night, so bring a sweater or jacket if you want to enjoy the late Swedish summer outside!

Can we give a wedding gift?AnswerWe know many of you have traveled far to get here and that’s all we could have wished for! For those who’d still like to give a gift, we’re planning a honeymoon to Italy and are grateful for any contributions that help us get there.

We’ve arranged for two close friends to help with this. To leave a contribution, you can Venmo Arthur Mason (U.S.) or Swish Elisabeth Avrotin at 0762204931‬ (Sweden). Please mark your gift with G&M and clarify who it’s from.

If you prefer to give your gift in person, there will be a space at the venue to do so.

What do you mean by “Jewish, American, Swedish” wedding?AnswerWe don’t actually know either, but we’re
all going to find out together on September 13th.

Traveling

Do I need a visa to enter Europe?AnswerThere are currently no visa requirements for entering the EU / Schengen area as a tourist. You can spend up to 90 days in the EU as a tourist.

Is it okay to speak to people
in English?
AnswerYes. Especially in Stockholm, Swedes are extremely proficient in English and you should feel comfortable speaking to people and asking questions in English. Much of the infrastructure of the city is posted in English.

What currency is used
in Sweden?
AnswerDespite being part of the EU, Sweden uses its own currency. The exchange is roughly 10kr to $1 USD. We recommend bringing a credit card that doesn’t have foreign transaction fees. We do not recommend taking out cash, as very few places accept cash.

What about cell service?AnswerMost U.S. phone plans have a day-pass option that allows you to use data abroad, we recommend you check with your phone provider before you leave. However, wifi is also quite abundant.

How do I use the subway?AnswerThe subway is effectively cashless. All you need to do is tap your credit card or Apple Pay / Google Pay to enter, you can then ride any of the trains for 75 minutes.

What should I pack?AnswerEarly September in Stockholm is very temperate, meaning it can be warm in the day and cooler in the evenings. The highs around 64-68°F (18–20°C) and the lows will likely be between 50–54°F (10–12°C). We’d recommend a light jacket or sweater if you’d like to enjoy some of the evening outside, but the venue will also have blankets (a very Swedish thing).

Can I drink the tap water
in Sweden?
AnswerSweden boasts some of the world’s cleanest drinking water, but if you’re a Democrat you should know there’s no fluoride in it 😉
